Dr. Lance Myers
Dr. Lance Myers was born and raised in Flint, MI before moving to Polo, IL during high school. He is a chiropractic physician with an emphasis in sports medicine and exercise rehabilitation. He received degrees in Bachelor of Biomedical Sciences in 2006 and Doctorate of Chiropractic in 2009 from the National University of Health Sciences in Lombard, IL. After graduation, he opened and operated an office in Freeport, IL, and then later relocated to Rockford where he joined Caraotta Chiropractic Orthopedics in March 2013. In August 2017, he and Dr Nicholas Micka purchased the office from Dr Jacob Caraotta who began working in short-term medical missions
Dr. Myers grew up receiving chiropractic care. His mother would often take him and his four brothers to a chiropractor for wellness care. Seeing and receiving the benefits of chiropractic wellness care starting at around the age of 10, he had desired since then to become a chiropractic physician. His desire was to help others understand and benefit from what corrective and wellness chiropractic care is able to do for patients.
Dr. Myers has advanced training in Olympic-style kinesiotaping and sports medicine. Additionally, he has training in spinal correction and rehabilitation through Chiropractic Biophysics. Dr. Myers is available, as a community service, for lectures on various health topics including spinal care, nutrition and exercise. He is a member of the Christian Chiropractors Association and the International Chiropractic Association.
Dr. Myers stresses the importance of preventative spinal health, nutrition and wellness. He and his wife Rhonda have 2 daughters, are active in their church and community, and reside in Rockford.
Dr. Nicholas Micka
Dr. Nicholas Micka is originally from the Quad Cities. He is a graduate from Palmer College of Chiropractic. After graduating, Dr. Micka practiced Chiropractic in Tuscola Il, where he expanded upon his training in clinical nutrition for treatment of internal and musculo-skeletal disorders. Dr. Micka and his wife Amber decided to move closer to family, hence relocated to Rockford and he began practicing at Caraotta Chiropractic Orthopedics.
Dr. Micka is not only proficient in Chiropractic and Rehabilitation, but Guasha and Active Release Techniques, which are advanced methodologies in treating sports and every day injuries. He has been using these techniques successfully to treat tendonitis, carpal tunnel and other nerve entrapment syndromes, including rotator cuff injuries, knee and foot problems, acute and chronic neck and lower back disc problems, and various other conditions.
Dr. Micka has additional training in Functional Nutrition and Endocrinology, which enables him to recognize how subtle alterations in blood chemistry can manifest itself in non pathological endocrine disturbances.
Dr. Micka has a passion for using his God given talents to help others. He and his wife Amber have 3 sons, are active in the community, and reside in Rockford.
Dr. Jason McAfee
Dr. Jason McAfee was born and raised in Amarillo, TX. He earned his Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Business Administration from Texas Tech University in Lubbock, TX. Dr McAfee has a deep interest in strength training and health, which led him to pursue a change of career to Chiropractic.
He obtained a Bachelor's in Life Science in 2005 and a Doctorate of Chiropractic from Logan College of Chiropractic in Chesterfield, MO in 2007. While in Chiropractic college, he met his wife, Shelley.
Dr. McAfee and his wife spent five years operating their own practice in Branson, Missouri. They moved to South Carolina in order to be close to family. While in South Carolina, Dr. McAfee managed the Chiropractic department of a large medically integrated facility. After six years of living in the South, they felt led to move back to the Midwest.
Dr. McAfee has extensive experience with pediatric treatment, pelvic distortion correction with Logan Basic Technique, use of cold laser for large joint rehab, and has been advanced certified with Activator Methods Chiropractic Treatment. He also has extensive experience in treating orthopedic and sports injuries involving the shoulder, hip, knee foot, and upper extremities.
He and his wife have four boys and one girl, which they home school. Dr. McAfee enjoys spending time with his family, being involved in church, strength training, and outdoor activities. His passion is helping people live a better life naturally and experience less stress and pain along the way.
